The Rayograph

A Polished New Visual Arts Center

This recently-completed visual arts center in Colchester, England was designed by architect Rafael Viñoly. The building – called Firstsite because it stands where one of the first Roman settlements of England once stood – has a pleasing mix of angles and curves, as well as a warm golden hue given by its polished copper-aluminum panelling. Within lie an auditorium, galleries, and a cafe.
