The Rayograph

Striking Photographs Remind Us of Cinema Past

Old Hollywood is a wonderful site with an expansive collection of publicity shots, production stills, and rare photographs from films made up into the 1970s. It’s really quite something – the fact that I just spent at least an hour (probably more like two) purusing the archive attests to that, I think. And because of said purusing, I’m now a bit tired and have nothing witty to say. So here, look at some lovely photographs!

Clara Kimball Young in “Lola” (1914) –

Conrad Veidt and Lil Dagover in “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” (1920) –

Audrey Hepburn in “Roman Holiday” (1953) –

Romy Schneider in “L’Enfer” (1964) –
