Nature, Magic Mix in Imaginative Illustrations

London-based graphic designer and artist Ruben Ireland uses materials and methods both old and new, often mixing ink and acrylic with weathered paper or tweaking images on smart tablets and computers. His creations combine natural elements in artificial ways, making for some dream-like graphics. In this particular series, Ireland focuses on women, as they are seen variously interacting with or adorned by wildlife. Hair becomes bird’s nest or bison’s scruff, as a pair of ladies trade faces with hares. Some of the mysticism-infused imaginings are shared here. And for a similar set inspired by nature and magic, check out the work of Anton Abo and Ooli Mos of the Orka Collective – here, if you’re interested.
