Intricate, Art Nouveau-Inspired Illustrations

Melissa Murillo – sometimes working under the pseudonym Meyoko – is a Berlin-based illustrator with a flair for dark Art Nouveau, to borrow her phrasing. I think it is an apt description of the style. In predominantly black and gold ink, Meyoko warps and weaves tapestries of serpents, vines, and human hair. There is certainly a touch of the retro in her works.
