A Private Escape Amidst The Urban Sprawl

Studio H:T designed this unique urban residence in Denver, Colorado, with a keen eye for the issues that a limited lot and a series of decks next door might engender. To address these issues, the architects designed a tall, curving metal shield that is both visually interesting and provides privacy from the neighbors. The appropriately-named Shield House also features a spacious rooftop lounge area where family and friends can mingle, have a drink, and gaze out at the skyline. The interior features an open plan, a modern kitchen with stainless steel fixtures, and a staircase framed in a way that is particularly interesting.

Take a closer look, thanks to the photography of Raul Garcia.

The shield is a brilliant solution to the privacy issue. Love both the interior and outdoor living spaces.
