Mark Hartman Photographs Old Billboards in All Their Abstract, Chaotic Glory

Boston-bred and New York City-based, professional photographer Mark Hartman was chosen this past year as one of PDN’s top photographers to watch. The RIT-trained creative has also produced work for such clients as Penguin Books, Esquire, and Fast Company, to name a few. Recently, Hartman visited Panama where he photographed a series of an arrestingly unusual nature. The series treats the many jagged, peeling layers of old billboard advertisements as pieces of found art, capturing them in all of their abstract, chaotic glory.
